At the end of May, the Salinas Valley Water Coalition submitted a comment letter and eight exhibits to the California Department of Water Resources (DWR).
The letter and exhibits (all linked below) detail the significant new information developed by the Salinas Valley Basin Groundwater Sustainability Agency (SVBGSA), including how pumping in the Upper Valley, Forebay, Eastside and 180/400 subbasins affects groundwater conditions in these subbasins, river flows, and seawater intrusion.
This effort ensures this new information becomes part of DWR’s administrative record for the 180/400 GSP’s 5-year Evaluation and the upcoming 2027 5-year Evaluations for the Upper Valley, Forebay, and Eastside GSPs.
