The Salinas Valley Water Coalition (SVWC) is responding to misleading statements claiming landowners in the southern portion of the Salinas Valley receive 70% of the Salinas River’s water while northern landowners pay the majority of the costs for this water supply.
That allegation is a misleading myth that continues to divide Salinas Valley landowners just as we need to come together to develop projects that can achieve and manage groundwater sustainability in the Salinas
Valley and particularly, the critically overdrafted180/400-Foot Aquifer Subbasin.
